What travelers should expect

According to Government of Canada travel advice, an onward or return ticket and proof of sufficient funds are required to visit Cambodia. Have both ready before you travel.[1]

  • Proof of funds goes hand in hand with the onward ticket, so be prepared to show you can cover your stay (recent bank statements, a credit card, or cash all help).
  • Tourist and business visas are valid for 30 days from your date of entry; you can apply for an e-visa a few days ahead, or get a visa on arrival at airports and major land crossings.
  • Other government advisories (such as the UK and US) don't mention an onward-ticket rule, so checks may not be consistent at every entry point.

What documents usually count

Airlines normally want a return or onward flight reservation that matches the traveler name and can be checked before boarding. A verified reservation is useful because it includes an airline reservation code and a dated itinerary.

Common arrival planning

For Cambodia, travelers often plan around PNH - Phnom Penh. Enter your actual route and departure date when you book so the reservation matches the trip you need to document.
