Volaris onward travel
Volaris requires you to show the travel and entry documents your destination asks for before you can board, so make sure yours are in order for the whole trip.
How this airline usually checks
Volaris states that passengers are responsible for verifying and meeting all sanitary, health, and immigration requirements of both the country they leave and the country they enter. It adds that the documents an immigration authority requires must be shown to Volaris personnel in order to board the aircraft. So before you fly, confirm you have whatever entry documents your destination requires, since you may be asked to present them at the gate.[1]
- Gate and check-in staff may ask to see the passport, visa, and any entry documents your destination requires before letting you board.
- If a country expects proof that you will leave again, staff may ask to see an onward or return ticket.
- Boarding can be refused if a required document cannot be shown.
When to be ready
Have your documents ready at check-in and again at the gate; a valid onward or return reservation covers the check.
Routes where checks are more likely
- Most relevant on Volaris international routes, including flights between Mexico, the United States, and Central and South America.
- Matters most when entering a country that asks visitors to show they have onward or return travel.
