How this airline usually checks

Sun Country's Contract of Carriage states that each passenger traveling across an international boundary is responsible for obtaining and holding all necessary travel documents and for complying with the laws of every country they travel from, through, or to. In practice that means it is your responsibility to confirm and carry whatever documents the countries on your itinerary require before you travel.[1]

  • Staff may ask to see your passport and any required visa before an international flight.
  • You may be asked for documents showing you meet the entry rules of your destination, which can include onward or return travel.
  • Responsibility for having the correct documents rests with you, not the airline.

When to be ready

Have your documents ready at check-in and at the gate for any international flight, where a confirmed onward or return reservation covers the check.

Routes where checks are more likely

  • Most relevant on Sun Country's international routes, including flights to Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean.
  • Matters when your destination country sets entry conditions you must show before boarding.
