Spirit Airlines onward travel
On international Spirit Airlines flights, you must show a valid passport and any documents the destination country requires at check-in, or Spirit can deny boarding.
How this airline usually checks
Spirit's Contract of Carriage says that for travel to or from an international destination, every traveler, including children of any age, must have a valid passport and all foreign government documents required to enter and leave that country, and these must be provided to Spirit at check-in. Spirit may refuse to transport anyone crossing an international boundary whose travel documents are not in order.[1]
- Staff verify your passport and entry documents at check-in for international flights.
- Every traveler is included, with no exception for children.
- If your documents are not in order, Spirit can refuse to board you.
When to be ready
Have your passport and any required entry documents ready at check-in for any international Spirit flight, and remember that a valid onward or return reservation covers the proof-of-departure part of that check.
Routes where checks are more likely
- Matters most on Spirit's international routes, such as flights to and from Latin America and the Caribbean.
- Applies to every passenger on the booking, including infants and children.
