How this airline usually checks

Condor's conditions of carriage state that before departure you must present entry and exit documents, visas, health certificates, and any other papers the relevant countries require, and let the airline copy them. Condor checks because if a passenger is refused entry on arrival, the country can fine the airline, and Condor's terms pass that fine on to the traveler. The airline reserves the right to refuse carriage if you do not meet the requirements or your documents are incomplete.[1]

  • Staff at check-in or the gate ask to see your passport, visa, and any health or entry papers your destination requires.
  • If documents are missing or incomplete, Condor can deny boarding.
  • Where a country requires proof of onward or return travel, expect to be asked to show it.

When to be ready

Have your documents ready at check-in and again at the gate, and a valid onward or return reservation covers the check.

Routes where checks are more likely

  • Most relevant on Condor's long-haul routes between Europe and destinations with strict entry rules, such as the United States, the Caribbean, and parts of Africa and Asia.
  • Matters wherever your destination requires a visa, health certificate, or proof of onward travel for entry.

If you are refused entry into a given country, you are then obliged to pay the fine imposed on us by the country concerned.”
